The Juvenile Assessment Center

Aurora, Colorado’s first annual Food Truck Fight™ is brought to you by the Juvenile Assessment Center The Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) provides a coordinated site which contributes to the safety of youth, families, and the community through early intervention, comprehensive assessment and improved access to appropriate services in Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties in Colorado.

We are a non-profit that serves as an impartial ear to youth and families in an effort to understand underlying issues contributing to a youth’s behavior.  Through in-depth assessment(s) and evidence-based screening tools, staff work to understand the barriers youth and families are experiencing at home, school or in the community.  We then connect the youth and family to the necessary resources and services to help overcome their current barriers and create a stable environment where they can thrive.  When appropriate, the JAC coordinates with law enforcement, courts, schools, etc. allowing them to have a better picture of that youth and families’ needs and strengths.

History

Food Truck Fight™ was created in the Quad Cities (Iowa) in June of 2016. With the help of our local government, city official, sponsors, and countless volunteers, we’ve welcomed over 17,000 attendees in our three years of annual Food Truck Fights. Our mission is to continue bringing fun and family friendly events to our hometown and cities across the US. This rapidly growing event allows us to not only bring new faces to our town, but also drive business for our local economy and allows us to give back to the community. Food Truck Fight™ proudly donates a portion of our proceeds back to local organizations that share our passion for making the Quad Cities a great place to work, live and play.
