Food Truck Information: Muscatine, Iowa

This will be our third Food Truck Fight® event in Muscatine! Thousands of hungry food truck fanatics have flocked Riverside Park and we anticipate a large crowd in 2023. Attendees will be voting electronically for their favorite food truck. No categories, no judges - it is completely up to the public. There will be a beer tent, live music, entertainment for the kids and more. The goal of this event is to provide the food trucks with an opportunity to serve thousands of people in a safe, family-friendly, and fun environment.

Vendor Fee: $250, non-refundable.

Proceeds: Food trucks and vendors keep 100% of their proceeds for sales on the day of the event.

Menu: YOU MUST PROVIDE A $5 “feature” ITEM. This can be a small menu item, a menu item sliced in to pieces, etc. In addition to the $5 feature item, you may serve any menu you’d like, with the exception of beverages. Neither alcoholic nor non-alcoholic beverages may be served unless approved first by the event team.

Set-Up: Food Trucks/Vendors may begin to arrive as early as 8:00 am on Saturday, June 3, 2023. All set-up must be completed by 11:30 am. The event begins at 12:00pm. ANY TRUCKS THAT ARE NOT ON SITE BY 10:30 AM ON JUNE 3, 2023 WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY. We cannot stress this enough, please plan accordingly and DO NOT be the food truck that tries to show up two minutes before the event -- you will be turned away. Additionally, please make sure your truck and equipment are fully functional before event day.

A COLD STORAGE truck will be on-site to store your additional product in. This will be available on Friday, June 2, 2023 by 3:00pm.

On-site Resources: All food trucks and vendors must be able to operate independently (with the exception of the cold-storage provided by Food Truck Fight® for you to store extra product) of any provided resources at Depot Park including water, electrical, refrigeration and any materials. Vendors are responsible for all set-up and clean-up of their booth space at the park and their immediate area surrounding such space. POWER WILL NOT BE PROVIDED TO ANY FOOD TRUCK.

Helpful details for all participating trucks:

  • Food Trucks/Vendors will be provided space based upon their size. Food trucks and vendors must plan on being there for the entirety of the event. We cannot allow trucks to leave during the event (noon-8pm).

  • The event will be held rain or shine.

  • Post all menu prices at your food truck/vendor space.

  • Feel free to get creative with how you serve that feature item (a.k.a. how you secure votes!)! Several trucks have served their $5 feature item from a separate table set-up in front of the truck - if you plan to do this, you must provide your own table.

  • ATM’s: ATM’s will be available onsite, but trucks are responsible for having cash change for customers.

  • This will be a consistently busy event, staff accordingly!

    • Number of expected attendees will be provided to Food Trucks/Vendors prior to the event for preparation purposes. Many trucks experience their largest sales of food truck season at this event - please be prepared for constant lines at your serving window.

    • Shift changes: your staff may enter and exit through one of two admission gates.

  • Voting:

    • Voting is done via QR Code. Voting signage will be posted troughout the event space.

    • Voting will end around 6:30pm on Saturday and the winner will be announced during an on-stage presentation around 7:00pm. Prior to the awards presentation, the top three food trucks will be notified. We ask that at least one member of your team be available to go on stage if you are in the top three.

    • We will be highlighting each food truck as part of our marketing; we encourage you to share and comment on these posts.

  • No Food Truck/Vendor may produce or sell any merchandise, apparel, or promotional items with the Food Truck Fight® logo or wording without prior consent.

  • Please keep your area clean and do not throw trash next to or behind your area or anywhere other than a dumpster. The trash containers provided at Riverside Park are for the attendees; do not stuff those containers with boxes or other large items. Use the dumpster provided by the event team for your trash.

Licensing & Paperwork:

No special license/permits are required for Muscatine. Your current primary operating permit is sufficient for this event.
